Country Music Summer 2020 Playlist
We all have a favorite “song of the summer” that takes us back to a certain year and brings back memories.
Our favorite artists have had a lot of time during quarantine to brew up some new jams for us while other songs are helping us get through the boredom. Here are our top favorites to kick off this summer:
- Sam Hunt, “Hard to Forget”
Sam Hunt has been known for adding a little twist to your typical country music style. This song is no exception. It starts off with a sample from the 1950’s hony-tonk vocalist, Webb Pierce and then transitions into the classic Sam Hunt we all know and love.
- Luke Combs, “Six Feet Apart”
This song is one we can ALL relate to right now. Luke wrote this song during quarantine and anyone who listens to it instantly feel less alone during these hard times. It is a nice reminder that we are all going through this together and things will get better.
- Luke Bryan, “One Margarita”
Luke Bryan has a history of singing the BEST summer time country songs like “Country Girl” and “Huntin’ Fishin’ and Lovin’ Every Day” so it is no shocker that he released another beach-worthy tune. I mean, come on, the name says it all.
- Thomas Rhett (feat. Jon Pardi), “Beer Can’t Fix”
Need a song to cure your summer blues? Thomas Rhett and Jon Pardi have outdone themselves on this one. The perfect combination of a good beat and a little heart break is all you need this summer. And I think we can all agree, we want to have as much fun as they did in the music video.
- Breland (feat. Sam Hunt), “My Truck”
If your jam last summer was “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X, then this song is going to be right up your alley. We are blessed with another Country Trap song that we hate to admit that we love. Sam Hunt helps to blur the lines between Country and Hip-Hop.
- Florida Georgia Line, “I Love My Country”
From the guys who brought us the OG summer country song, “Cruise”, you will not be disappointed with this one. They sing about all things we love about summer; fishing, drinking and hanging out the window on those hot summer days.
- Justin Moore, “Why We Drink”
I think this one is all too relatable for everyone, especially during a quarantined-summer. Justin reminds us that we all have our own reasons for drinking whether it’s because its Friday or because it’s hot out. This one is a summer hit, and that’s something I can drink to.
- Lee Brice, “One of Them Girls”
We can’t forget, every summer has a cute love song. Lee Brice always delivers with the smooth songs like “I Don’t Dance” and “Rumor” that make us want to fall in love. Well, “One of Them Girls” is another song we can add to that list.
